Merci! I have loved watching all your content and have absorbed every valuable syllable. I’m traveling in Sept to Italy and Paris with my fam of 5 (not COO!) so it’s very relevant to me at the moment.
I’m cautiously nervous about traveling with kids aged 12,10&5. We’re there any other areas you found a little dicey other than Montmare? Call me over protective, but I’m putting an AirTag in my kids pockets daily whilst we’re out and about.
Hi Elena! We honestly felt very safe throughout our entire trip. That said, in the big cities, they were within eyeshot at all times. AirTags are a great idea if that provides some relief. I would also just really talk to them ahead of the trip, ahead of any big day out. For e.g, we explained that they would have to go to the bathroom with a parent, at all times. In the bigger cities at least. Even the teenager understood the threat of human trafficking -- sounds extreme but that was explained to them. It's the big, wide world out there - not like Australia where we feel a little protected from those atrocities. Maybe that naive or over the top, but I think a reasonable explainer of the new dangers, without terrifying them beyond belief, may be useful?
Yes, definitely a chat beforehand, and I'm thinking the Airtags will be invaluable in-case they get confused and lost in a crowd (especially for the 5yr old) who we lost (misplaced) at a festival in Fremantle recently. Whoops!
We’ll go for your Notre Dame VR recommend that I had talked myself out of for the big kids.
Thank you for this information! Looking forward to following the rest along the way. Onwards & upwards!
Yes, the 5-yr olds are terrifying for their disappearing acts. Invest in the Apple tag for your own peace of mind then. And if you do the VR, MAKE SURE YOU DO IT TOO! Don't talk yourself out of it! It is fantastic!
I lived in France (not Paris) for 20 years! Moved the family (4 kids) to Australia in 2017 and we’re all heading back for the first time in December! Yes it will be winter, yes it will be cold, and yes it will be brilliant 😊 Hubby and I have booked tickets to the Moulin Rouge - leaving the kids with my parents. Can’t wait! 😄
Thank you for the Notre Dame virtual reality recommendation. We went this morning. My kids are 9, 13 and 16 and the whole family loved it (even the 16 year old who keeps pretending she’s not a part of our embarrassing family and believed she was too cool for VR). I probably wouldn’t have found it without this post. It was so so good.
Hi Lise, I have really loved all of your incredibly helpful tips - thanks so much!! Is there any chance you could tell me who you organised your boat trip with in the Cinque Terre?
Ha! Elena we are doing the same as you - air tagging ours too (same ages) when we go over Xmas holidays! Feel better knowing it’s not just me. Have a great trip 😊
Absolute gold! Heading to Paris with our two teen girls for 3 days in September. Thanks for the tips Lise. Oh and my eldest and I are having great fun selecting our “vêtements capsule” - helping to get her very excited! So looking forward to tomorrow’s email!
Loved watching along and now get to use this advice in 7 weeks! Invaluable advice on the flâneur-ing... I will lure my 11 and 13 year old along with Nutella crops and this orange thing as suggested! Thank you.

OMG! Actually star-struck that you replied to ME!

Elena my daughter is 23 and was just in Europe the same time as Lise! I begged her to wear an AirTag in her bra daily 😂 Has she even seen Taken??
My point Exactly! ;)
Hi Elena! I think you can get watch straps for AirTags? Maybe Amazon? Happy travels! ☺️
Such a great idea! I had bought little keyring type holders, but a watch strap is much more practical!

Ooh, I'm SO excited for you! WHAT A NIGHT it was. Just spectacular!
I hope your Auntie knows she’s got foreigners lining up to book in a babysitter circa European summer 2024!
Look, I haven't asked permission but...;)

Just booked Moulin Rouge in September for us and our teens 14 & 16 (boy and girl)!! Love all these tips thank you👩🏼🎨

Crepes!
Saving the Moulin Rouge tip for my next Paris adventure! Thanks Lise x
My kids have all grown n flown but still taking on board advice/info for partner ..same same really 😊
I hear you! Balance for everyone is key. I don't think I could have managed two back-to-back days of monuments, if I'm honest!
Thanks for this Lise. I am hoping to travel over in 2 years by then my youngest has finished school. Still great information for those sans children!!
Honestly, the VR experience I would do with other adults, it was THAT good. And The Moulin Rouge...oh, how glorious it was!
Yes one of the kids dance teachers is I the Moulin Rouge cast and I hope to see him if he's still there!
I've heard there's an Aussie guy in the troupe!
I’m off to Paris in soon for a solo adventure (was there for just over 24 hours a few years ago), have added a couple of things to the itinerary 😊
So pleased to read this. Enjoy!
