GOOD LORD, it’s great to be back in civilization!
In case you missed it, the devil himself planned a camping holiday hellscape for our family in the Cape York Peninsula - the northernmost point of the mainland of Australia.
I am a husk of a woman and yes, divorce was on the cards 267 times. Per day. I have many, MANY thoughts about this trip, all of which will be purged from my fractured soul in an upcoming ep of The Lise & Sarah Show (available on Apple, Spotify or your favourite podcast app).
In the meantime, because I haven’t worn anything but the look of disdain and feral bush-woman clothing since mid-June, I have no fashion finds or bargain dupes to share with you right now, but what I DO have is an extensive list of shows I binged while I was stuck in a car for the better part of three weeks.
Need inspo? Here you go!
A Family Affair - Netflix: Nicole Kidman + Zac Efron romantic comedy.
Painful to watch but not as painful as 26748kms of corrugated red dirt roads. Good if you need to numb yourself for 1.5hrs.
America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders - Netflix: Reality show
This show has been running for years (previously titled ‘Making the Team’) so I’d already binged all previous seasons available on Paramount + during the pandemic/my tonsillectomy/another holiday block. But this is the brand new 2023 edition, rebranded c/o Netflix, so if you’re new to this franchise, start immediately! SO GOOD! (problematic AF, yes, but very watchable. No doubt we’ll be sharing opinions on the podcast sometime soon)
Good Luck To You Leo Grande - Neflix: Emma Thompson movie
An absolutely masterpiece of humour, awkwardness, honesty, pain - THE WORKS. No wonder it was up for Golden Globe noms and BAFTA awards. The story revolves around a woman (Emma Thompson) who seeks a young sex worker to help her experience pleasurable sex. Watch this one alone.
