I only took 6 makeup products overseas...
Here's what made it into my Ziploc bag.
Avert your eyes immediately if you LOVE makeup and delight in hoarding more palettes than a Kardashian bathroom drawer - this may not be the article for you. What you need to know about me is that I suck at makeup. If I could smear Vaseline over my lips and slap my cheeks for some colour every day, I would, so it’ll come as no surprise that my makeup kit is shockingly teensy-weensy. But I still want to look nice. I’m complicated like that.
Here’s what I took with me on holiday (and swear by in day-to-day life):
ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 - This was my ‘base’ and boy, did I LOVE it! It combines makeup, skincare, and SPF - hello, Mother Multitasker. Dewy and sheer finish, which is my #1 requirement + jam-packed with stuff like hyaluronic acid for plumpy hydration, and niacinamide for texture and tone. I used the dropper to release a teeny blob on the back of my hand and then applied with a dense makeup brush to blend and buff into clean, moisturised skin. A little goes a long way, so even though it’s a spicey-pricey, I still have loads left in the bottle. Some people say it smells like playdough, but it doesn’t bother me in the slightest. (I use shade ‘ST11 Matira’.)
