A couple of weekends ago I spent three endlessly satisfying hours purging and rearranging my wardrobe - auditing, editing, appraising, holding, thanking and rolling like the Marie Condo sycophant I am. Winter gear was retired downstairs and summer pieces resuscitated, all while wearing nothing but my bra and undies, because you’d be a damn fool not to play dress ups with the 374849 pieces littered across your bed while you have the chance. I’m always amazed at the new combos I can shop from my own wardrobe once I’ve Tasmania-Devilled my way through it and let my kids raise themselves for half a day. Yes, you can butter the bread with the leftover Betty Crocker icing. Go for it, kid. It also allows me to get crystal clear on any gaps I may need/want to fill ahead of a new season.
So, without further ado, here are the four high street buys I’ve made that should see me through Spring/ Summer:
COS PLEATED RACER-NECK MAXI DRESS
A bit of a splurge ($225) but still reasonably priced for a beautifully constructed dress. I sat on this one for a whole week before biting the bullet and succumbing to its drapey, cotton-blend knit, racer back goodness. I’ll be dressing her right down with flat sandals and tarting her right up with heels. Find her here.
DECJUBA LONGLINE VEST
This longline vest with gold knot buttons is super chic, super versatile and will help me breathe new life into a whole lotta pieces I already own e.g. black maxi slip skirts/dresses, denim, wide leg trousers, print midi dresses. It’s beautifully constructed and looks expensive. Currently 20% off which brings it to a smidge over $100. Find it here.
